Barcode technology is not just for large manufacturing operations and big-box retail stores. Just about any firm can advantage from barcode technology because it’s a simple, easy way to join together real-life objects and habitancy with computerized data. Barcoding can save time, money and dissatisfaction in any condition where things need to be tracked or indubitably identified. Let’s look at 10 ways even small businesses can advantage from barcode technology:

1. Point of Sale

Scanning barcodes on products when they’re purchased reduces human error in identifying products and charging spoton prices. Shoplifters cannot switch prices tags and purchase high-priced items for less. Price changes are easier too; just swap out the price tag on the shelf and enter the new price in the computer-no need to convert the price tag on every unit.

Bracelet

2. Catalogue Control

Know exactly what you have in stock and what you don’t. Get notified of low stock Catalogue before you run out. Reduce rain checks or manufacturing downtime by ordering before you run out.

3. Document Tracking

No more lost files or time wasted finding for files. Identify exactly where a file has been stored or last seen. Know exactly who has looked at a file and when it was last reviewed. Report instructions for re-filing after use and verify spoton location of files being returned to their warehouse location.

4. warehouse Cataloging

Know exactly where you’ve place what. Move out-of-season or slow intelligent merchandise out of the way into deep warehouse without risk of losing track of its location. Barcode items and shelves and Report locations in your database. Don’t waste time finding for things or spend money buying replacement items or inventories because you can’t find them.

5. Identify package Contents

Place barcodes on boxes, crates and barrels and track exactly what is in each container. indubitably Identify each container, what’s in it, where it’s been and where it’s supposed to go.

6. Order Picking and Packing

Increase order accuracy and Reduce fulfillment time. Place barcodes on products, Catalogue locations and picking sheets to ensure the right products are picked. Packers can verify accuracy of the order before packing and shipping.

7. Carry on Client Information

Identify files, items, projects and more with barcodes and know abruptly which client they are for. join together those barcodes to database and electronic information for easy reference.

8. Sick person Identification

Connect files, prescriptions, x-rays and other data with the spoton patient. Reduce errors in medication delivery, diagnoses, and treatments. Place barcodes on identification bracelets for in-patients, hardcopy files, x-ray films and designate packaging to join together them to computerized Sick person records.

9. Time Tracking

Use barcoded Id tags to track on-the-job and off-the-job hours for employees. Scan work order barcodes and enter time spent on the scheme for indubitably tracking billable hours.

10. retail Memberships & Coupons

Barcoded membership cards make it easy to track customer purchasing trends, customize offers, and track effectiveness of sales promotions. Place barcodes in coupons to capture detailed information about marketing campaigns.

If your firm can advantage from using barcode technology, an easy way to get started is with software that allows you to create barcodes and print them onto acceptable labels using your laser or inkjet printer. BarcodePro is full-featured software that does exactly that and does it for a price that’s affordable by any size business. The interface is designed to be easy to use by firm owners and managers so no It pro is needed. Learn more about Barcode online at http://www.barcodelabelpro.com.

What great way to show the world that you are in love than by the act of giving and receiving a diamond engagement ring? With many actresses and other celebrated women sporting bigger and sparklier diamond rings, celebrity engagements have become a pleasure for the jewelry lover. The size of the diamond is not necessarily the key as to what makes some of these rings so celebrated and recognizable, rather it seems to be a aggregate of the engagement ring itself and the celebrated lady it is related with.

The history of diamond engagement rings

Diamond

Maximillan I of Austria gave the first diamond engagement ring on report to Mary of Burgundy in 1477. He had the ring commissioned to unite their two houses and make their marriage a unifying seal to the country.

The smallest diamond engagement ring ever made was given to Princess Mary who was married by proxy to the Dauphin of France in the year 1518. Princess Mary was two years old at the time.

Throughout history diamond engagement rings have become larger, more elaborate, and have included a wide variety of other jewels and metals. diamond engagement rings settings can be made of silver, platinum, white or yellow gold or a aggregate of these elements.

Famous ladies and their engagement rings

Celebrities and other celebrated habitancy influence the look and style of many aspects in fashion and also set trends. diamond engagement rings are no exception to this rule. The following is a partial list of the celebrated ladies and their equally celebrated engagement rings:

Royalty:

Queen Elizabeth Ii received an engagement ring from Prince Phillip that was made from diamonds from his mother’s tiara.

Grace Kelly was given a 12 carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from Prince Rainier.

Lady Diana was engaged with a ring made of an 18 carat blue oval sapphire that was circled by fourteen diamonds.

Actresses:

Elizabeth Taylor was engaged to her third husband, Michael Todd, with an emerald cut diamond that weighed roughly 30 carats. However, she is more known for her other pieces of jewelry, one more remarkable than the other: the 39 carat Krupp diamond, the 69.42 carat pear-shaped Taylor-Burton diamond and the 17th century heart-shaped Taj Mahal diamond.

Priscilla was engaged to Elvis with a 3.5 carat diamond engagement ring that was circled by another 21 smaller diamonds and diamond chips.
Sharon Stone was given a three diamond, 3 1/2 carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring by Phil Bronstien.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ promise to Michael Douglas was finalized with a 10 carat antique marquise diamond estimated at amost million.
Joan Collins got a heart-shaped diamond ring in a nineteenth-century setting from husband Percy Gibson.

Pop stars:

Madonna received from Guy Ritchie an antique Edwardian three-stone diamond ring with a ornamental platinum band. The Neil Lane ring was supposed to characterize their family: mother, father and son Rocco.

In the case of Toni Braxton, drummer Keri Lewis designed a remarkable 4.5 three-stone diamond ring with an oval-shaped town stone and 2 heart-shaped diamonds on the sides.

Paris Hilton, even though not a pop star but a diva anyway, received 2 diamond engagement rings from billionaire Paris Latsis, a million 24 carat canary diamond ring and a .1 million 15 carat white diamond ring.
Britney Spears has two engagement rings also: one that she bought for herself before the wedding, a ,000 4 carat cushion-cut diamond ring with a platinum pave setting, and one that she received 9 month after the marriage from husband Kevin Federline.

Christina Aguilera became engaged to Jordan Bratman after he presented a ,000 20-carat diamond engagement ring designed by jeweler Stephen Webster.

Whitney Houston sports a remarkable 4 carat oval-shaped town stone with trillions on the sides which she received from Bobby Brown.

Replica diamond engagement rings

Of course there is the very celebrated pink diamond ring that Ben Affleck gave to Jennifer Lopez. This 6 carat radiant shaped pink diamond swiftly caught the attention of the communal and has become a highly sought after replica. It is completed with a platinum band as well as three baguette white diamonds on each side. The pink diamond engagement ring is reported to have been purchased for .2 million in 2002. The ring, while precisely identified is also very feminine and modern looking.

Replicas of the celebrated pink diamond ring are now available for a moderate price. The cost of the replicas depends on the potential of the stones and the materials used in reproducing the pink diamond engagement ring.

Some replicas are styled as more antique diamond engagement rings. These rings have an everlasting potential and symbolize tradition and heritage. The new engagement of Camilla Parker Bowles in February of 2005 featured such an antique engagement ring. The platinum ring has an emerald-cut town diamond with three diamond baguettes on each side. This ring originally belonged to the Queen mum and is believed to be valued at over million.

Since few habitancy can afford the traditional item, there will all the time be a store for replicas of these one of a kind diamond engagement rings. The potential of the replicas varies, as does the price. It is leading to note that the styles of diamond engagement rings that are beloved with celebrities will soon become the styles that are sought after by the not quite so rich and famous.

Many population that have an interest in gold jewelry and coins often will claim that tarnished gold doesn’t exist, however, that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Pure gold will not tarnish, but it is rare to find jewelry that contains this pure element. When pure gold is added to alloyed gold, such as 18 carat or higher, this will also lessen the risk of tarnishing, with the exception of a few conditions. Tarnishing is ordinarily only seen in smaller carats, depending on the base metals and the elements that each one is exposed to. For example, if a 10 carat gold piece has a decent whole of copper in it, it can oxidize, creating a red or black tarnish. Silver also exposed to the elements when combined with gold produces black tarnish.

So what causes tarnished gold? When gold is mixed with these base metals, as it roughly always is, exposure to environmental factors that are going to have an consequent on the metals. Moisture, organic vapors, oxygen and sulphur compounds in the atmosphere, and even human sweat and oil from human touch can make gold tarnish if it is mixed with a high whole of base metals. Surprisingly, perfumes and deodorants with definite chemicals in them can also sway gold to a point that it will tarnish.

Gold Bracelet

One of the most surprising offenders that cause gold to tarnish is definite food products. Pickles, fruit juices, onions, and other items with high acidity or sulphur compounds are likely to create a tarnishing sway on gold that is less than pure.

Sometimes the way a piece of jewelry or something made of gold is man-made can have an consequent on its susceptibility to tarnishing. Items that are cast by lost wax casting and other methods that leave a micro-porous surface can literally cause the jewelry to trap varied acids, compounds, and other elements which will cause a form of local tarnishing wherever the foreign impurities gets trapped.

Jewelry can be kept from tarnishing by storing it in a pouch or bag in a dry atmosphere. You should also polish your jewelry normally to remove contaminants and other inconsistencies. You can even have the item electroplated with pure 24 carat gold which will preclude tarnish for awhile, but will finally wear through with use and age. Some countries such as India and the Middle Eastern countries do touch a blackening of higher carat gold pieces, and no one seems to know the cause. Generally, it is linked to a distinct lifestyle and condition or environment, since the problem doesn’t occur elsewhere in the world, but no one knows for sure.

When it comes to coin collecting, many reconsider a bit of tarnishing, or toning as it is called in collecting circles, to be highly desirable. Gold coins rarely tarnish because of their purity, but some exceptional toned coins exist and this toning makes them all the more valuable. You may want to clean your jewelry to have it restored to its customary shine, but all coin collectors know to never, ever clean the tarnish off their coins. In fact it is a general rule to not clean your coins in any way. Collectors desire the old look of an old coin and want that look preserved. Cleaning highly collectible gold coins can ruin their value.

Just remember it is perfectly okay to clean tarnish off of your beautiful jewelry, but never clean the tone off of necessary old gold coins. Stick by these rules and keep your gold valuables of any kind in the best condition and top necessary possible.

As a glass artist new to the wholesale market, one of my first tasks was to study wholesale trade shows.

After lonely hours culling straight through Web sites, I’d sip wine and chronicle mantras from Deepak Chopra: “There are no wrong decisions. Wherever you are is exactly where the Universe wants you, right now.”

Bracelet

This was to relieve deep anxiety over which trade shows to select and where I’d get the cash for the booth fees.

Then the Universe said, “Sign up for the Philadelphia Buyer’s market of American Craft Visiting Artists schedule at the Pennsylvania practice Center, June 21-23, 2006.” The Rosen Group runs this schedule while its regular trade show to help new artists learn the ropes of wholesaling, and presumably to incubate a new generation of artists for the Buyer’s market juried shows.

I wavered, fretted, reserved a hotel room, and advised myself any times to “get real” and cancel the whole thing.

Then I got into the car with my 78-year-old mum and her walking stick. As we pulled out of the tree-lined driveway, mum asked if I didn’t already know adequate about wholesaling. “I’ve done a lot of research,” I said. “But this should fill in the gaps.”

Chopra was right about the Universe wanting me to share in the Visiting Artists Program, but I was dead wrong about the gaps. What I learned filled not gaps, but chasms. The presentations by gallery owners, wholesaling artists, and the Rosen Group’s own staff were invaluable. Since applying the knowledge I gained, I’ve made adequate sales to pay for the trip, and more.

Flexibility, Language, and the Artist’s Statement

Craft-marketing maven Bruce Baker and gallery owner Nancy Marcoe, both Arts firm form faculty members, opened the schedule stressing that artists must be limber and flexible in business. To embrace turn is to prosper. This idea of morphing with the marketplace is cliché in the firm world. But Baker and Marcoe put it in the context of fine-craft wholesaling, something I hadn’t much considered.

As a old journalist, I liked their take on language. Search for the vocabulary of your markets, they advised. Hire it in ads and sales pitches. Use predominant designer names as comparisons and show customers why your work is better. Update color names (it’s “citrus,” not “yellow”). The beauty may be in your art, but the magic is in your words.

How to write the proverbial Artist’s Statement had me stumped (a sociology master’s makes a miserable stand-in for a form degree). But Baker noted a key tenet of marketing: Customers love stories. And despite the workaday reality, they see the artist’s life as inherently exciting, fascinating, and free.

Baker’s advice for writing the artist’s statement: Out go the credentials; in go stories about the accidental feline scratches in your clay. Out go the awards; in go ways that owning your art will make customers feel fabulous. Think population Magazine, or hire a writer to do so.

At mid-morning the first day, the Rosen Group staff officially oriented the Visiting Artists at the “Meeting Spot,” a small room off the main lobby. Fact sheets lined the walls on all things from show planning to contracts. Binders displayed examples of good and bad goods slides and booths.

Buyers and Artists Look Alike, For Good Reason

After any morning workshops and presentations, the moment most of us were waiting for finally arrived: a tour of the showroom floor – 90,000 quadrate feet of wholesaling in action, millions of dollars in fine-craft trade, real time.

We were asked not to talk to the exhibiting artists, especially if there were any buyers in their booths. We were also prohibited from taking pictures or notes – to safe artists from the “design thieves” who apparently come from as far away as China to steal fresh ideas.

The exhibiting artists watched the spectacle of us 15 Visiting Artists promenading straight through the isles. This made me a bit self-conscious. But brilliantly, the tour included stops at artists’ booths for Q&A sessions, which helped give us a sense of belonging.

Not surprisingly, the buyers look a lot like the artists, and often one has to look at the nametags to tell the difference.

In her “Galleries as Partners” workshop, Judie Raiford noted that many gallery owners indubitably are old full-time artists. Raiford herself is an artist, and owner of the Raiford Gallery in Roswell, Georgia. As a winner of the Niche Top 100 Retailers of American Craft, Raiford urges artists to step up to the plate with very pro firm practices in order to build successful partnerships with their gallery-owning brethren.

Artists, meanwhile, come from various backgrounds, along with dentistry, writing, and yield work for potters and other artists. One woman from New York was development the transition from journalism to selling elaborately beaded bracelets. She bravely displayed her beadwork for a mini critique by Wendy Rosen, Rosen Group founder and author of Crafting as a Business.

Rosen has made an energetic occupation of democratizing the fine craft marketplace – and not without critics. She’s implicated in soiling the temple of fine craft with the ignoble souk of lowly merchandising. But Rosen slays the highborn critics with the sword of economic egalitarianism. She gives artists without trust funds a fighting chance. Her presentation was gem-packed.

Afterward, clutching their treasure boxes full of creations, any artists crowded colse to Rosen’s table to watch her generously give one-on-one critiques well straight through the lunch hour. I found it well worth starving through.

Later, we were allowed to walk the aisles of the trade-room floor independently. The Muses were on my side as I ran into a glass artist from my hometown – a someone I’d wanted to meet for some time. He turns out to be one of the nicest population I’ve ever met, gift for me to call him later for advice. He said he’d never had a chance to mentor another artist, and now would be his chance.

At another booth an artist displayed sculptures of dichroic glass and plastic, the old being the material that first enticed me into kiln-working. As he described his work, I realized many moons ago I’d met him via email after stumbling upon his website while a late-night stint of Internet research.

Across the isle, a maker of whimsical wall clocks said she’d lost money on her first show. (Fortunately, the customers are buying now.) Here was a real-life example of what some of the presenters had been telling us: Artists may not perceive profits with the first consolidate of trade shows. It can take two or three shows for a new artist to form buyers’ trust. It drove home the point that this firm (perhaps like any other), requires a start-up venture and a year or two of ramp-up time.

Someone will all the time Buy Orange

In the rainy Saturday twilight, I quickstepped passed any of Philadelphia’s market road panhandlers. They are a sign of America’s dwindling middle class, a downward slide that is pushing fine craft into the upper-middle, “everyday luxury” market.

Waiting at the historic Reading concluding market was the trolley shuttle-bus to the “Coney Island Party,” a conference the Rosen Group had organized for exhibiting artists and buyers. Onboard the trolley, a local fine-craft gallery owner sat beside me. We set out for Dave & Buster’s restaurant and Arcade.

I told the gallery owner about that morning’s provocative lecture by Michelle Lamb (of Trend Curve), chronicling current and upcoming trends in colors, forms and motifs. I had walked away from Lamb’s talk convinced that artists should pay attention to color trends.

The gallery owner had his doubts.

“There’s all the time someone who will buy orange,” he opined, adding that his firm model focuses on “high volume and variety.”

Later, at the cash bar, the hometown artist I’d met introduced me to a smartly dressed buyer from a foremost Southern gallery. He also introduced a Toronto glass artist and a Canadian consolidate more than 20 years into wholesaling. It was encouraging to see that population indubitably can make a good living this way.

In production stretchy themed button bangle all you need are your chosen themed buttons and Stretch Magic Bead/Jewelry Cord. There are wide assortments of themed buttons available at your local bead stores. You can be creative and consist of some handmade glass beads if you want to.

Bracelet

Just use buttons and make a spiral design; any way this will want you a lot of buttons and it doesn’t show off smaller buttons well. You can use an alternative like placing a spacer or beads to isolate and show off your buttons.

Pick your desired buttons and beads and start to lay out your pattern. You can search for and play with other designs and styles.

You can now cut a piece of stretchy cord six inches longer that your wrist measurement, this is for adjustment or postponement if necessary. On one end, you have to put a paper clip.

After that, you can now start with your stringing. If in case you aren’t satisfied with the way the pieces mesh, just naturally restring it. When you are now satisfied with your construct and you have now a definite distance of bangle your are creating, halt it by naturally line up the two loose ends side by side and then tie an overhand knot.

Button bangle Using Memory Wire

For this scheme you will need some vintage buttons to put at the center of your bracelet, and coordinated stones and beads for the rest. Put in order also a bangle memory wire, some jewelry production tools such as round tipped needle nose forceps for looping each end and holding the beads and small materials in place, and a wire cutter. If you wish to halt the end of your bracelet, you can also use glue on an end cap.

Start laying out your desired design. Get your memory wire, cut a piece of it two inches longer than your wrist’s measurement.

You also have to put a clip at one end.

String one half of your construct beginning at the center button.

Before lasting the rest of your stringing, check the fit first. This way you can indubitably adjust the distance if it’s not half of your wrist’s measurement. After that, switch the clip to the other end and start stringing with the other half.

In production the end loops. Just grip the loose end of memory wire using needle nose pliers.

Wrap the wire around the forceps to shape the loop; you have to position the forceps for you have the size of loop you want. Tightly grasp the pliers; push the wire away from you and around the tip of the forceps until you have concluded the perfect loop. Make sure you have lots of wire when doing this project.

Lastly, clip off the other end and cut away any excess wire and repeat the looping process.

That is just the beginning you can learn other jewelry production techniques in adding more colors to metal or working with polymer clay jewelry. It is all up to you as to how far and how detailed you want to get. The only thing that limits a jeweler is their imagination, so imagine, dream and create.

Everyone is recycling everything. Since fine jewelry is made out of non-renewable resources, it makes sense to recycle. It doesn’t have to be picked apart and melted down to be recycled. There are other ways to recycle that’s not being used and just sitting in drawers.

Give Away Fine Jewelry

Gold Bracelet

This is a good selection for jewelry that has no meaning and that has sentimental value. Jewelry that has no meaning can be given to anyone who would appreciate the value of it. For those items that have sentimental value, it can be given to a family member who will appreciate it and wear it.

Sell Fine Jewelry

Fine jewelry can be sold conspiratorially with an ad in the paper, Craigslist, or on eBay. There are risks complicated with having a fine item and meeting man you don’t know to make the transaction. Fine jewelry can also be sold on consignment in a showroom. This is the safest and will also give the piece the most exposure to buyers who can afford it.

Redesigning

Taking parts of jewelry that isn’t being used and putting it in other piece of jewelry or using it in a new and unique jewelry design. The stones can be used in other setting or the setting can be used with new stones or stones from other piece of jewelry. A piece of jewelry can be designed and incorporate aspects of the piece of jewelry that is no longer being used. On type of jewelry can be tuned into other type of jewelry. Brooches or dangly earrings can be turned into necklaces and small earrings can be turned into charms on a bracelet.

Nowadays, we all know a diamond engagement ring is the most prominent jewelry buy in a man’s life and the most important to the woman who receives it. diamond is the birthstone of population born in the month of April and is also used as the emblem of a sixty-year anniversary, such as a diamond Jubliee.

However, the symbolism of diamonds goes beyond romance. straight through centuries diamonds have been a emblem of love, excellence and purification. Diamond, because of its considerable hardness and clarity, also still reigns consummate in its symbolism of power, strength, brilliance and unparalleled beauty. Diamonds are engaging treasures that have fascinated mankind throughout the centuries. Many regarded them as magical. Not only were they rare and beautiful, no tool could cut them and even the fiercest fire would leave the diamonds unscathed.

Diamond

Diamonds have been used symbolically because of their remarkable corporal properties. It was said that the Greeks believed diamonds were tears of the gods. Romans believed they were splinters of fallen stars. In Tibetan Buddhism, also known as Vajrayana (Diamond Vehicle), diamonds are an prominent emblem and the diamond Sutra is one of the most favorite texts.

In ancient India, diamonds were not cut for fear that they would lose its magical properties. while the Middle Ages, it was believed that diamonds would grow darker in the face of guilt and shine brightly for the innocent. an additional one belief is that in the nearnessy of poison, diamond would also change color. The rainbow colors of the prism were understanding to give one magical power over Evil Eyes.

According to occultist myths, it was believed that diamonds possess any supernatural powers, e.g. a diamond’s hardiness can only be broken by smearing it with fresh goat’s blood. Or a diamond gives victory to he who carries it bound on his left arm, no matter the estimate of enemies.

It was also believed to have been used as a healing stone. Such as a way of detecting and detoxifying poison, occasion spirituality channels and assisting calming creatures.

Today, diamonds are used to symbolize eternity and love. The first diamond engagement ring can be traced to the Xv century, when the Archduke Maximilian of Austria gave the first diamond ring engagement to Mary of Burgundy in 1477. At that time, the diamond was used in its natural crystalline structure. The octahedral or eight-sided formation, like 2 pyramid joined at the base, was mounted with the lower pyramid wholly hidden in the ring setting and the upper half rising out of it. Light would be reflected from all four sides of this exposed upper point. The buildings of this diamond mirrors the symbolism of the Egyptian pyramids. The union in 1477 was preponderant by the replacement of a diamond betrothal ring which would have been an early example and possibly the first royal one.

Other early example of betrothal jewels incorporating diamonds contain the Bridal Crown of Blanche (ca. 1370-80) and the Heftlein brooch of Vienna (ca. 1430-40), a pictorial piece depicting a wedding couple. In the 19th century, Napoleon gave his wife Marie Louise an excellent diamond necklace on the birth of their son. possibly the most published romantic diamond gifts in contemporary times have been the jewels given by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor. These contain a 33 carat diamond worth over million and the pear-shaped 69 carat Taylor-Burton diamond.
